Most HP Series 600 Printers use the Print Head (where the ink cartridges go) to start the paper pick - up process. The printer uses what is known as a clutch actuator (HP Part No. C4549-40027).This is the intermediary link between the print head and the actual paper drive system.In normal use the print head goes to the extreme left to push against the clutch actuator which engages the main drive gear with the paper loading gear assembly.
