Jeff Bewkes told senior members of AOL's staff yesterday that the company is officially for sale, a source close to the company says. No confirmation yet--we'll let you know if/when we get it.
This isn't surprising given the reports of Yahoo-AOL and Microsoft-AOL talks in recent weeks (and again yesterday). If Jeff has indeed announced the news internally, however, informal discussions have probably reached a new level of seriousness.
