Interesting enough I have had several conversations with different people this past year about food. What’s better local or organic. Why is there such a price difference? Why is local food more expensive than supermarket food? Especially, when it doesn’t have to travel as far. Of course I understand that the super market buys in large quantities and that the government subsidies the larger corporate farms. But I really hadn’t grasped the real driving factors of cheap beef and gassed tomatoes.
