This month's podcast is dedicated to the TextureDJs who produce one of my favorite podcasts anywhere, "Transatlantic Grooves." The TextureDJs play some of the most eclectic genres of music from brokenbeat, to jazz, to funk. Their sets seem to be somewhere between old and new, full of warm vintage charm, almost as if you were listening to your old 45's. Unfortunately the TextureDJs seem to be M.I.A. ;) Last I have heard, "A few trips to Kenya have gotten in the way of regular podcasting." I hope all is well fellas, and, I just wanted you guys to know that there are quite a few people out here having withdrawals without our monthly doseage! :)
If you believe that imitation is the ultimate form of flattery, then lets continue! This month I have put together my own eclectic mix of old and new to come up with my own "vintage 45 sound." I have found some terrific brokenbeat, funk, and jazz as well as a couple of excellent mashups that will transport you back to more simple times. In fact, I even whipped together a couple mashups of my own for this one!"
This show is all over the place, but, was quite fun to create and is bound to leave you with a smile on your face. Enjoy!
