In order to get to the ground of being, we have to first turn and face our demons, and not be driven from them by our fear. In order to receive the dharma, we have to first empty ourselves out. This can be a terrifying process, but it is an essential one. We have to go empty-handed in search of the dharma, only then can we return empty-handed.
