Why? is a cleverly crafted marriage of hip-hop and indie rock. Originally a solo project of Jonathan "Yoni" Wolf, Why? expanded into an experimental trio that has the folky-twee-synth like melodies of indie rock with hip-hop rhythms and raps. The group's latest release, Alopecia, is as playful and catchy as baroque bands like Architecture in Helsinki. But Why? distinguishes themselves with mid-tempo rapping, mellow rhythms and beatbox.
