Show #37Please Take Our Listener Survey More Soporanos...and stuff...The PreaknessThe unbeaten Kentucky Derby winner Barbaro was eager to go, and he even broke through early. After getting him back into the No. 6 gate for a second start, all seemed well. About 12 seconds later, the question wasn't whether Barbaro would win the Triple Crown, but whether he would live. After galloping a few hundred yards in the Preakness, Barbaro's right rear leg flared out and he veered sideways. He was diagnosed with a fracture above and below his ankle. Bernardini won the $1 million race, beating Sweetnorthernsaint by 5¼ lengths. MLBThe wait is over for Barry Bonds. He and the Babe Ruth are tied at 714 homeruns. In their first look at Billy Wagner this season, the Yankees went down without a fight, striking out three times in the ninth inning on Friday night. Unfortunately for Wagner and the Mets, he couldn't replicate those results on Saturday. The Yankees got him for four runs in the ninth, sending the game to extra innings and, eventually, an unlikely 5-4 win. Andy Phillips provided the game-winner for the Yankees, singling in Miguel Cairo in the 11th against Jorge Julio. A.J. Pierzynski plowed over Cubs catcher Michael Barrett, scoring the first run in the second inning of Saturday's cross-town match. Barrett, in turn, delivered a right cross to the left side of Pierzynski's face, a squared-up shot near the jaw, leading to a full-on, benches-emptying altercation that halted play for 13 minutes. The White Sox went on to win a 7-0 shellacking of the Cubs. NBA For the first time since ’94 round 2 has 3 game 7s. In the east it’s the Cavs and Pistons, and out west the Spurs hope to keep the repeat dream alive against the Mavs. And, on Monday the Clippers visit the Suns for a game 7 showdown in Phoenix. NFL Football could be coming back to LA. The Los Angeles City Council voted to spend $25 million on improvements around the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in hopes of luring an NFL team back to the city. NHL Edmonton goalie Dwayne Roloson made 31 saves as the Edmonton Oilers took game 1 from the Mighty Ducks 3-1 in the opening game of the Western Conference Finals. In game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals it was the Buffalo Sabers who came out on top, beating the Carolina Hurricanes 3-2.
