Dr. Francine Kaufman discusses diabetes prevention and treatment. Dr. Kaufman is currrently leading two NIH diabetes investigations, both focusing on preventing and treating type 2 diabetes in children and teenagers. She discusses how people can modify their lifestyles and make a real shift to healthy behaviors. Dr. Kaufman is Head of the Center for Diabetes, Endocrinology, and Metabolism at Childrens Hospital in Los Angeles. She has been funded by the National Institutes of Health since 1980, and is the current Chair of the National Diabetes Education Program.
