Three Cheers For Rampaging Youths In China
After one student is beating by city inspectors in Zhengzhou, China Wednesday, hundreds of university students riot, burning cars and chasing inspectors.
While NewsTalkAsia.com does not necessarily support general mayhem, rampaging students in China appear to have a good case for taking their anger to the streets.
On Wednesday, a female university student, trying to put some extra cash in her otherwise impoverished pocket, began selling items on the street without a license. Apparently the oversight was enough for inspectors to bash our her front teeth and give her a senseless and brutal beating.
Up to a thousand students from three area universities took to the streets in protest. The demonstration soon turned into a regular riot as students tried to avenge the beating of a fellow student. Roads were blocked but all had died down by early Thursday morning.
Wary of potential widespread unrest, government officials sacked two of the inspectors and suspended four others.
Maxwell Book says sometimes it takes a bit of unruly youths to send a powerful message to the government to stop unnecessary brutality of citizens. Find out in todays edition of Maxs Daily Rant just how many Maxs thumbs are going up for the performance of the Chinese student protestors.
